A gorgeous, fully hardy, North American deciduous perennial that has dark, indigo blue, pea like blooms that appear in summer on tall flower spikes up to 1.5m tall. The flowers are a bit like large Lupins but not so tightly packed. These are followed by pea like inflated pots to which they are related. It is clump forming with grey/ green to green trifoliate leaves and looks just as spectacular in a tropical bed as it does in a cottage style planting.
Perfect for the back to middle of the border with an open, well drained, acid to neutral soil in full sun. Very drought resistant once established although regular watering will be required during the summer if grown in a pot. Said to be deer and rabbit resistant.
Sent as 3 individual plug plants.
