Tall fleshy stems up to 2 meters tall with jungly foliage and exotic butterfly like blooms. The flowers are a pale peach, with a salmon throat and pink stamens, highly fragrant and appear in late summer to early autumn at the top of the stems. Each stem will die back after flowering and are then followed by new stems, appearing in spring from a thick, fleshy rhizome. Plants kept under heated glass will continue to grow through the year,
Reliably root hardy in UK zone 8 or above gardens although a thick mulch is a good idea in the autumn to protect the rhizome from heavy frosts. The whole plant will be knocked back to the ground by heavy frosts. Plant in a moist but well drained soil, feeding and watering regularly through the growing season. Once growth has started in the spring, usually around mid to late May the more food and water they get the better they will perform. Full sun to part shade although plants in full sun grow much quicker. If any brown scorching appears on the foliage in full sun positions increase watering.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. Sent dormant in winter. May be cut back for shipping.
