Shell size: Approx 12.5 to 19cm.
Stunning black shells especially if polished with a black scaly or ribbed outer surface . These shells are abundant in Indo-Pacific waters and grow with with their pointed "nib" side down. The shells anchor themselves with fine silky threads or byssus to rocks and stones, and exceptionally they can grow up to 30cm in length.
