A pretty little rosette forming succulent up to 15cm in diameter and 10cm tall with fleshy green leaves that have rough white lines etched across them that makes the foliage look and feel like an old fashioned washboard. Due to it’s small size and texture this has given rise to the cute common name of fairies washboard.
Very easy to grow, just plant in sharply drained potting compost, terracotta pot preferred, and position in full sun. Water the compost regularly during the summer keeping the compost just moist and allow to dry out during the winter. Do not leave it sitting in water.
Cold tolerance wise we have tried it outside for the first time during the 2019/ 2020 winter with nothing more than a ventilated cloche to keep its feet and crown dry and seems to have come through with no problem but then it was an exceptionally mild winter. It will not tolerate cold and wet combined, that will quickly cause it to rot and turn to mush.
Sent as a young plant in a 5cm pot.
