A handsome, architectural perennial with heavily armed, sword shaped evergreen leaves reaching up to 45cm in length and looking more like an Agave than an Eryngium. In summer tall branched flower spikes appear from the centre of the leaf rosette reaching up to 1.5 meters in height. Each branch holds a small cluster of green flowers that are nectar rich and loved by bees.
Ideal for coastal sites and loves full sun with a well drained soil. Once established they are drought resistant if grown in the ground and will require little watering. Plants kept in pots will need regularly watering. Hardy throughout most of the UK if given a well drained position, especially for the winter.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. May be cut back for shipping.
