A fast growing native of Southern Australia creating a medium sized shrub of around 2mtrs tall with a similar spread. It has slender, arching branches with small pale green leaves and produces purple, almost bottle brush like flowers on and off throughout the year. If left to it's own devises it can become a bit untidy but an occasional prune will create much denser growth and increase the amount of flowers produced.
Unusually it tolerates most soils including poorly drained and is said to tolerate temperatures down to -8c. We have had them go down to -5c with no damage so it's abilty to be said to be able to tolerate -8c is very probable. Not only is it not fussy about soil conditions it is also capable of surviving drought once established and is very wind tolerant, even tolerating salty winds so ideal for coastal spots as either a specimen shrub or a hedge.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. May be cut back for shipping.
