An attractive evergreen shrub to small tree with narrower leaves than standard lusitanica and denser growth. Likes well drained soils and is drought resistant once established. Tolerates strong wind and makes great wind break hedge. The stem tips are often maroon in colour adding to the plants attractive appearance.
Just as suitable for topiary as it is for hedging requiring little pruning once you have achieved the plants required shape. Plants trained into standards look particularly impressive. Hardy down to -10 to -15c and requires a full sun to part shaded aspect.
Sent as a young plant in an 11cm pot.
