Tiger iron is an altered rock composed chiefly of tiger's eye, red jasper and black hematite with undulating, contrasting bands of colour and lustre. Composed chiefly of silicon dioxide (SiO2) it is composed chiefly of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and is mainly coloured by iron oxide.
Usually used for jewellery-making and ornamentation and said to relieve stress, sooth aches and pains and strengthens muscles.
