A spiny, multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub that typically grows to 3 meters tall. The pinnate compound leaves have 11 to 19 small elliptic blue-green leaflets creating a soft looking textured shrub through the growing season. In late spring masses of small, fragrant, pea-like, pale blue/white flowers in terminal racemes up to 15cm long come into bloom. These are then followed by green seedpods that mature to brown. Plant in a rich, moist but well drained soil in full sun to part shade. Hardy.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot.
