Usually grown as an annual, this perennial Salvia is actually proving to be quite root hardy in UK zone 9 gardens if given a well drained soil and a thick winter mulch to stop the ground freezing. Plant in a warm, sheltered spot and you will be rewarded with gorgeous, deep, midnight-blue flower spikes on upright stems from mid to late summer often flowering right up to the first heavy frosts.
Plants grown in pots or in gardens below zone 9 will need to be over wintered in a cool, but frost free glasshouse or conservatory for the winter.
Maximum height 45cm and spread x 25cm
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. May be cut back for shipping and will be sent as dormant plants in winter.
