A deciduous perennial grass forming clumps of bright green foliage up to 1 meter in height that turns yellow in autumn, fading to light brown in winter. The winter foliage looks particularly good when frosted so leave in place before cutting right back in early spring just as the new growth appears at the plants base.
Dark pinkish red bristly flowers are produced from mid-summer through to autumn and should also be left in place during the colder months to give some winter interest. Full sun and a well drained soil is a must for it to survive our damp, cold winters and it may be killed off if temperatures drop below -5c.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot.
