Selenite gypsum is a calcium sulphate hydrate (meaning that it has two molecules of water), with the chemical formula CaSO4·2H2O. It appears in a variety of forms and can create giant crystals often up to 2 meters in length. Some can be much larger such as those found in the cave of swords in Mexico where the largest is over 11meters in length.
