Look up to the sky when this one flowers. Each rosette of silver haired leaves produces a stem of hundreds of small pink funnel-shaped flowers up to 4m high. Classed as a bi-annual but we have found they will often not flower until their third year.
Only really fully hardy in the warmest parts of the UK so mature plants may require wrapping during the winter. The foliage can be quite large and looks stunning in a jungle type planting. Normally seeds freely (but non-invasive) after flowering so although short lived you will always have plenty of offspring to look after.
Grow in humus rich well drained soil in full sun. Hates being in a pot for long periods so best in the ground.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. Large leaves are removed or cut back for shipping otherwise they dry out extremely quickly in transit. Re-growth is very fast.
