Attractive form of sea holly with evergreen, clump forming, soft, green heart-shaped foliage. Thin wirey branched stems emerge in early summer armed with spiny leaves and carry a profusion of small, sea holly flowers in bright, steely blue. A tall eryngium for middle to rear border planting .Full sun with a sandy, well drained nutrient poor soil is a must. Rich soils tend to create floppy thing stems requiring support. Does not like root disturbance so choose its permanent home carefully. Maximum height 90cm, spread 50cm.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. Sent as dormant plants in winter. May be cut back for shipping.
