Helleborus foetidus Stinking hellebore
HELL-FOE
Hot Plant Company
An attractive evergreen perennial that seems to have acquired some rather unfortunate common names including stinking hellebore and dungwort. Yes it does smell slightly unpleasant if you crush the leaves but we feel many of these names are unjustified. The leaves are finely divided and elegant on its thick fleshy stems with clusters of long lasting, lime-green flowers held above the foliage in spring. Very architectural looking. Tolerates most soils and most light aspects including shade. Maximum height 80cm with a 45cm spread.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot.
