Laden with spikes of large, blue flowers this upright perennial looks fantastic with the blooms rising above the thick and glossy dark-green leaves. The foliage is deeply lobed with downward-curling feather-shaped sections. Usually flowers late summer to early Autumn but due to our changing weather patterns can often flower earlier in the summer. The plant dies back it's rhizome after flowering taking a dormant period before re-shooting.

Full sun or partial shade with humus rich moist but well drained soil.

Wear gloves when working with monkshood as all parts of the plant are poisonous and can irritate the skin.

Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. Sent dormant in winter. May be cut back for shipping.
