Looks very much like Japanese blood grass especially in summer when the green leaves take on a rich red colouration. Light airy flower panicles are produced in summer and by the autumn the foliage takes on a deep burgundy colour. Can get a bit tatty over time so just chop the whole plant back to an inch or so above the ground and allow new fresh growth to come through. Loves sun and well drained soils. Drought resistant once established.
