Calocephalus brownii 'Silver Sand' Cushion Bush
CALO_BRO
Hot Plant Company
This is a brilliant, evergreen, architectural plant with a very unusual texture growing to a height of 76cm with a 40cm spread. If silver is what you want from a plant then this small, strangely beautiful shrub will not disappoint. The scale like silver leaves are almost fused to the stems and shine on a bright sunny day as if they had been sprayed with silver paint. In the Summer period, delightful, small, rounded, corymbs of creamy white flowers appear.
Ideal for all types of containers and is a wonderful contrast plant for mixed container plantings. Perfect choice for beds and borders and looks great when combined with small ornamental grasses.
Silver Bush originates from the sand dunes and sea cliffs of Tasmania so it’s remarkably wind and salt tolerant. This makes it ideal for seaside gardens providing a good low growing windbreak for shorter herbaceous perennials. Proving reliably hardy in the South of England and inner city gardens on well drained soils and sheltered spots if given full sun.
Sent as a young plant in 10.5cm pot. May be cut back for shipping.
