This arching, evergreen (if kept frost free) climber is native to South Africa. It produces oblanceolate, light green leaves on slim stems. From Summer to Autumn, it bears clusters of beautiful, pale blue, long-tubed, saucer-shaped flowers. Position in full sun either facing; South, East or West and keep sheltered. Requires acidic to alkaline, well-drained soil such as; chalk, loam or sand. Relatively root hardy in UK zone nine gardens if given a thick winter mulch, dying back after a heavy frost but with fast growing, fresh growth appearing around late May from the rootstock. New, spring growth is prone to slug damage so protect the base with a copper barrier.
