Choisya x dewitteana Aztec Pearl Mexican Orange Blossom
CHOS-DE-AZ
Hot Plant Company
A medium sized evergreen shrub, between 1.5 to 2.5 meters high, with glossy green leaves composed of 3 to 5 leaflets. Naturally it usually has a rounded growth habit which can be accentuated by the occasional prune creating attractive architectural mounds or balls. Also makes a rather attractive hedge. The leaves are citrus scented when crushed.
Attractive, fragrant white flowers are produced in the spring and smell like orange blossom with a second flush usually produced in the autumn. It is proving reliably hardy through all but the coldest parts of the UK if given a sheltered spot and a well drained soil. Full sun for best flowering but will happily tolerate shade. Keep well watered for it’s first few seasons but once the roots are established it is relatively drought resistant.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot.
