Cistus × heterocalyx Chelsea Bonnet Rock Rose
CIST-HE-CH
Hot Plant Company
A low growing, upright but mound forming rock rose with with grey-ish green to green, evergreen leaves and a white, bowl shaped, rose-like flower with a yellow eye. The blooms are produced in profusion during the summer and regular dead heading (although not necessary and due to the amount of flowers it is hard work) will prolong blooming. Each individual flower only lasts one day but you will get new flowers appearing in a continuous stream through the flowering period.
Drought resistant once established and should be given a sheltered spot. Tolerates any well drained soil that is on the nutrient poor side and needs full sun. Max height approx 60 to 100cm with a similar spread. Pruning is usually unnecessary but if required should be done in late spring and very lightly. Hardy down to around -10c if the correct conditions are provided.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. May be cut back for shipping.
