A low growing, spreading evergreen shrub up to 30cm tall but spreading for several meters. The olive green leaves emerge from rusty coloured felted buds and the attractive two toned red and yellowish green pendulous tubular flowers usually appear in winter but can show up at any time of year in the UK. Its our wonderful British summers don't you know!!! Tolerates most well drained soils and requires a full sun aspect. Not fully hardy but seems to do well in inner city gardens and on coastal sites if given a sheltered spot.
