A large shrub with with long, elliptic purple-red evergreen leaves. Clusters of tiny yellowish-green flowers appear in summer and these  followed by unusual red winged seed pods. Not terribly hardy but should survive milder winters in very sheltered garden micro-climates in the UK. If prolonged cold is forecast then bringing under glass may be a good idea. Any well drained soil with full sun. Max height 4mtrs with a 2.5mtr spread.

Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot. May be cut back for shipping.
