This delightful, deciduous perennial is native to parts of Spain, Italy and North Africa. It bears palmately divided, ovate, slightly hairy green leaves. Throughout Summer and Autumn, it features trailing mats of exceptionally beautiful, widely funnel-shaped, mauvish-blue flowers with light centres. Nectar loving, pollinating insects adore this plant!
Position in full sun facing either South or West and keep in a sheltered spot. Brilliant when planted in hanging baskets or containers. In the South of England, you will find them perfectly hardy!
Requires acid to alkaline, gritty, poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil such as loam, chalk or sand. If grown in a container keep in a gritty loam-based soil.
Once established, it’ll be very drought tolerate and will need almost no maintenance!
