A deciduous perennial (evergreen if grown under heated glass) that features beautiful funnel-shaped, pure white flowers with a yellow spadix and sometimes a dark purple throat. The blooms appear from early Summer continuing right up to mid Autumn and sit just above the attractive white spotted, green, arrow shaped leaves.
They really do like full sun to perform at their best but can tolerate partial shade. Despite performing better in full sun they do like the roots to be kept cool so may need a thick mulch, this will keep the roots cooler in hot weather. Do not make the mistake of planting this Zantedeschia in boggy, damp conditions or in a pond as they will rot and die. Unlike many of their relatives they need to be grown in a well-drained soil, not wet soils. If given a well drained soil it is proving to be reliably hardy in warmer parts of the UK.
