This is a vigorous, semi-evergreen perennial with rosettes of big, pinnate, deep-green leaves on a single, dense basal stem. From Spring into Summer, it features large, thick masses of little, scented, pale pink flowers. Can take a few years to flower. Position in either full sun or partial shade and keep in a sheltered spot. In Winter, protect with a dry mulch. Requires acid to alkaline, fertile, moist but well-drained or well-drained soil, tolerates most soil types. Only reliably hardy in UK zone 9 gardens.
