This is a clump-forming, deciduous perennial with slender, spear-shaped, deep-green leaves with silver speckles. In Spring, on short stems it features dense racemes of tubular, purple and rosy pink flowers. Position in either full or partial shade and keep in a sheltered spot. In warmer areas may be semi-evergreen. Requires acid to alkaline, humus-rich, fertile, moist but well-drained or moisture-retentive soil such as chalk, clay or loam.

Will take approx. 2-5 years to achieve its ultimate height.
