A native evergreen fern from shady places often growing in large drifts. Great all year interest in shady borders amongst other shade loving wild flowers. The fertile long green leathery fronds are where the plant gets the tongue part of its name from. Grows well on damp and shaded walls. Deep to dappled shade in humus rich moist soil. Although evergreen the previous season growth gets very tatty in the winter. Once new fronds start to come through in the spring remove the previous years growth to maintain much cleaner and more attractive plants.
Sent as a young plant in an 8.5cm pot.
