"Apache tears" is the popular term for rounded pebbles of obsidian composed of black or dark-coloured natural volcanic glass. It occurs as sub-rounded to subangular bodies up to about 5cm in diameter, often bearing indented surfaces.
Apache tears originate from siliceous lava flows and lava domes often in close association with or embedded in, grey perlite.
These are varying crystals with an approximate size between 3 to 5cm.. It is a natural product so may have nicks, chips and scratches.
