A very hardy small cactus from Mexico which actually likes growing near water. It grows up to 12 cm high and up to 8 cm wide. When young it has wooly areoles but mature plants have radiant and central spines, one of which is hooked. Pinky purple flowers appear usually in the heat of summer in a ring around the top of the plant. We have found this cactus to be very hardy if given a well drained soil and we have had it survive outside, unprotected during several days of -7c with no visible damage. Full sun position.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot.
