This is an evergreen climber with slim, hairy, lance-shaped, deep-green leaves. In Summer, it bears beautiful clusters of two-lipped, red-tinged yellow flowers. Purplish black berries emerge in Autumn. Position in areas of either full sun or partial shade and keep sheltered. This plant is tender in frost. Requires acidic to alkaline, moist but well-drained or well-drained soil such as; chalk, clay, loam or sand.
