Surprisingly hardy for plants that originate in South Africa the cape fuschia's create bushy mounds of green foliage which remains evergreen in milder areas or during milder winters. If you are situated in a particularly cold spot then they may defoliate or die back to the ground for the colder months. Fresh growth is usually fast from late spring reaching full size again within a season. The glowing magenta pink blooms that are like elongated fuchsia flowers can appear anytime from late spring onwards and often remain in flower right up to the first heavy frosts. Cut back hard in spring to maintain bushier plants. Maximum height 1 meter with a similar spread. Plant in any well drained to moist but well drained soil with full sun.
Sent as a recently potted young plant in a 9cm pot. May be cut back for shipping during the growing season. Sent as dormant plants if ordering between early Winter to early Spring.
