Libertia grandiflora New Zealand Satin Flower
LIB-GRA-3
Hot Plant Company
Dense clump forming perennial with linear stiff evergreen leaves a bit like a mini Phormium. Larger than Libertia formosa. White orchid like flowers are produced in clusters from late spring to early summer above the foliage. Only semi evergreen so prolonged or severe cold will cause leaf damage. Strong winter winds can also cause some scorching creating untidy clumps, just cut back the damaged foliage in the spring and re-growth is fast, coming back clean and giving the clump a fresh look.
Tolerates most soil conditions although humus rich soil in full sun is preferred. Can become drought resistant once established and will even survive in dry dappled shade.
Sent as a young plant in a 9cm pot.
