Moonfire is a particularly stunning Dahlia! This clump-forming, deciduous, perennial cultivar was originally established in The Netherlands.
From Summer to Autumn, it features beautiful, single, golden yellow petals blushed with red at their base. The effect is fabulous against its pinnately divided, bronze flushed foliage.
Position in full sun facing either South or West in a sheltered spot. Equally as effective planted in a cottage garden as well as a tropical border! Requires acidic to alkaline, fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained or well-drained soil, can tolerate most soil types.
Before the first frost lift, dry and store tubers in a cool, frost free area. Moonfire is proving to be reliably hardy in inner city and Southern gardens with well-drained soil.
